I recently came across an interesting blog post from Homey about integrating smart home devices outdoors, specifically using a Ring doorbell. The post showcased a flow where the system triggers events based on the doorbell ringing. I’ve been using the Ring app myself, but I noticed something odd—my version of the app doesn’t have the same flow cards mentioned in the blog. Does anyone know which specific app Homey is using for this integration?
In my experience, the flow cards available for my Ring Doorbell Pro are quite limited. They only include options like the generic alarm being on or off, motion alarm triggers, and battery level changes. I’ve tried setting up flows based on these triggers, but I’ve had inconsistent success. The generic alarm never seems to activate, and the motion alarm only works sporadically. It’s frustrating because I’d love to fully leverage my Ring doorbell for outdoor smart home integration.
