Overcoming Blink Camera Delay in Bright Environments

I recently set up my Blink mini cam inside the garage, and it’s been a great addition to my security setup. However, I’ve noticed an issue that’s been a bit frustrating. When the garage door opens during the daytime, the camera gain saturates and takes at least 30 seconds to adjust, sometimes even longer. This means that if someone opens the door and enters the garage, the camera doesn’t detect them until they’re right in front of it. While I can mitigate this by leaving a light on, that’s not a practical long-term solution.

I’ve reached out to the community for suggestions, and it’s been fascinating to see the range of experiences and solutions people have shared. Some mentioned that newer cameras handle this much better, which gives me hope that an upgrade might solve the problem. Others have suggested adjusting the camera angle or using motion sensors in conjunction with the camera to improve detection.

One user mentioned that they’ve had success with a combination of adjusting the camera settings and using external lights on a timer. This approach seems promising, as it combines technology with a bit of manual setup to create a more reliable system. I’m also considering whether a firmware update might address the delay issue, as sometimes these problems are resolved in newer versions.

It’s been really helpful to see how others have tackled similar challenges. The community’s willingness to share their experiences and solutions is what makes forums like this so valuable. I’m looking forward to trying out these suggestions and hopefully finding a solution that works seamlessly for my setup.

If anyone has additional tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other create safer, smarter homes.
