Overcoming Motion Detection Issues with Wyze Cameras

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam V3 motion detection feature. Initially, I was really excited about the cameras, but I noticed that the motion detection wasn’t working as expected. It was driving me crazy because I kept getting false alerts, especially at night when lights from passing cars would trigger the sensors. I tried everything from adjusting the sensitivity settings to placing the cameras in different spots, but nothing seemed to work. After some research and reaching out to the community, I discovered that the issue might be with the camera’s tracking feature fixating on lights and shadows instead of actual movement. I decided to tweak the exclusion zones and adjust the detection areas more carefully. To my relief, this made a huge difference! The cameras now focus on real motion, and the false alerts have significantly decreased.I also found that using the Wyze app’s advanced settings helped customize the detection to my specific needs. It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m really happy with how the cameras perform now. If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, I highly recommend checking out the advanced settings and adjusting the exclusion zones—it could save you a lot of frustration!
