I’ve been exploring the capabilities of Smart Lighting lately and stumbled upon an interesting challenge. If you’re using multiple Open/Close sensors as triggers for your lighting automation, you might have noticed that selecting more than 8 triggers can cause the Smart Lighting app to hang on the rule creation screen. This was a bit puzzling for me, as I wanted to set up a comprehensive security system that activates recordings on my indoor cameras when any of my 15 sensors detect an opening while I’m away or asleep.
After some experimentation, I discovered that this limitation doesn’t apply to Motion Sensors, as I was able to add all 10 of mine without any issues. While this workaround isn’t perfect, I’ve turned to WebCoRe to achieve the functionality I need. It’s a bit more involved, but it gets the job done!
