P1 always show motion in Aqara App but not Apple Home

Interesting finding. I have had a P1 Motion Sensor for a while, but didn’t use it. Decided it was time to start setting up a security system and bought three more to start. When I set up the first sensor, it was showing a status of “Someone is moving” in the Aqara App and never cleared. I looked at the original sensor and it also showed the same status always. On the one I had before today, the chart shows 79 triggers today and 621 for the week. I tried the following with both sensors:

1 - Removed from E3 Camera Hub (my Primary Zigbee hub) and reinstalled.
2 - Tried changing both detection interval and Sensitivity Adjustment then pressing the button on the back of the device.
3 - Remove and reinsert the batteries.
4 - Remove from Camera hub and install on my G410 Doorbell

At this point I was going to set it aside. I went into my Apple Home to rename them and place them in the proper rooms and found that in Home, they were showing motion properly (going away and coming back). So I went back and enabled the sensors in the security system and tested them and sure enough, they worked properly as far as registering motion and creating the alarm. So the function seems good and I am just getting an incorrect status in the Aqara app (I saw the same in the accessory pages and on a dashboard I added them to)

Any thoughts?

I think sometimes the app doesn’t update the sensor status in real time (especially with some hubs).

Have you tried testing it with automations? Because even the status might be wrong, the triggers may still work as intended. So maybe it doesn’t affect the automations?

I’ve had this problems before with some sensors, but it started working correctly on its own (I have the M3 hub and an iOS app ver 6.1.1).

Yes, I did try them by setting up a security system and they functioned. Just found it odd that the status didn’t update and wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing a setting or interaction issue. Thanks!
