I received my P100 Multi-State Sensor today, and have already found a home for it.
By adding it under the lid of my record player (where it blends in very nicely) I’ve been able to use it’s tilt feature to trigger a SwitchBot Bot, in a 3D printed housing, through a HomeAssistant automation.
The lifting of the lid turns on a Boolean, and closing the lid turns the Boolean off. Once it’s in the off position, after being on, the Bot is triggered which then pushes the start button on the player.
Why have I done it like this? If anyone reading this has a cat, you’ll know that they have a habit of sitting on things they shouldn’t. So by making it on the close, it stops any false triggers happening when she decides that it’s a great place to sit!
The next step will be to trigger the buttons without the need of the Bot, but that’ll be a task for another day - since it means taking the player apart!
