Package Detection on G5-POE not great

The package detection AI is really struggling with old brick steps. Even on low sensitivity, it fails on a regular basis . Any suggestions?

@oshauk I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the package detection AI on your G5-POE. While specific information about package detection issues on brick surfaces isn’t available in the reference, there are a few general tips that might help:

  1. Installation Position: Ensure the camera is installed at an optimal height and angle. If the detected target is too small in the camera’s field of view, it might not trigger detection effectively.

  2. Target Size: The AI detection requires a certain minimum target size to function correctly. Make sure the steps are within the effective detection range of the camera.

  3. Environmental Adjustments: Sometimes adjusting the environment, like clearing any obstructive objects around the steps, can improve detection performance.

  4. Reset and Reconfigure: It might be beneficial to reset the camera settings and reconfigure the AI detection sensitivity to see if it improves performance.

Yes, bricks are easily detected as packages, and we are working hard to optimize this feature. The current mechanism is that a stationary target is continuously reported as a package without any person appearing, and the AI algorithm will mark it as a false detection target after a period of time. If this situation continues to occur, you can provide me with some videos of package false detections, My email is: donie.yu@aqara.com
