Hello,

Pairing over Matter of the W600 thermostats works fine for me in Home Assistant.
Could you provide some details on your HomeKit setup? Which device are you using as your home hub? Does it support Thread?
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
My HomeKit setup consists of several tread border routers. Aqara M3, M100, two thread capable Apple TVs, 5 HomePods Gen 2.
I also have a Rpi5 running HA for automations.
Did you manage to combine the W100 and the W600 over matter in HA so that they show as a single device in HomeKit?
Quite an impressive setup.
I don’t have a W100, so I can’t test it myself. In theory it should be possible using Matter Bindings between the devices, so it’s not a limitation in Matter.
My guess would be that Bindings are not yet supported by the device firmware. And considering the on-going problems with temperature control on the W600, I suppose adding the Binding functionality will not have top priority for Aqara right now.
When you say it. I have some strange behavior with my w600s I assumed it was me that had messed up some bindings with w100 in zigbee mode. But now it’s starting to make sense that they are buggy.
Hopefully they fix that in a firmware update.
I’ll see if I can manage to work some magic in HA. I was hoping for an easy solution on the Aqara hub.

So I’m still a bit frustrated that this isn’t possible.
The way I see it thread is the superior protocol over zigbee. It meshes between all my border routers seamlessly. Hoping Aqara will allow temperature control of the w600 from a w100 over thread.
The menu is there but it unselectable.
So yesterday firmware 1.0.5.1 was released for the w100 thread protocol.
The update now allows for selection of w100 as a temperature source for the w600 in matter over thread mode. Allows to be selected is the key word. Because it seems the w600 is still not using the input to regulate. Anyone else tried it yet?
