The camera was intended to capture wildlife on their deck, but my friends noticed an issue—when reviewing footage, they only saw still shots instead of continuous video. I immediately reached out to Govee support to understand if this was a common issue or if there was a setting they missed.
After some research, I discovered that the Pan Cam V3 requires a Cam Plus subscription to view live feeds and recorded events. This was a bit disappointing because I wanted to gift them a camera that wouldn’t require additional costs. However, I found a workaround by purchasing a memory card for the camera, which allows them to store footage locally. While this doesn’t provide live viewing, it does capture events, which was the primary goal.
For those looking for a subscription-free option, I recommend considering older models like the Pan Cam V1 or V2, which don’t require a subscription for basic functionality. Alternatively, exploring cameras from other brands that offer similar features without recurring costs might be a good alternative.
