Hello everyone, I’ve been using Philips Hue bulbs for a while now and I’ve really enjoyed the flexibility they offer. However, I’ve recently noticed a change in how I can control the color temperature of my Hue ambient bulbs. Previously, I was able to set a specific color temperature, but now it seems that the option to ‘set’ a temperature is no longer available. Instead, there’s an ‘adjust’ feature, but this isn’t working as expected for me.
Let me explain. If I want to set the color temperature to 3000K, I now have to know the current temperature and then add or subtract from that value to reach my desired setting. This feels like a step backward in terms of usability. The same issue applies to brightness levels—there’s no option to set a specific level, only to adjust relative to the current setting.
I’m wondering if this is a deliberate design change or if I’m missing something. It would be helpful to know if others are experiencing the same issue and if there’s a workaround or solution. I’m also curious to understand the reasoning behind this change, as it seems less intuitive compared to the previous functionality.
If this is indeed the new intended behavior, I hope Philips will consider reintroducing the ability to set specific color temperatures in a future update. For now, I’m looking for any advice or insights the community might have to help me navigate this change. Thanks in advance for your help!
