I’ve recently made the switch from Mi-Light to Philips Hue, and it’s been an exciting journey! While the Mi-Light setup was straightforward with its bridge, I always struggled with controlling individual lamps within a group. Philips Hue has addressed this beautifully, but I ran into a few hiccups along the way that I’d like to share and hopefully get some tips on.
Initially, setting up my Hue lamps was a breeze. I downloaded the Group app to manage my lighting scenarios, but I noticed something odd—when I tried to group three lamps together for dimming and color temperature adjustments, the app didn’t recognize them right away. It was frustrating, but I figured it out by manually selecting the features I wanted. However, the integration still feels a bit off. Any advice on making this smoother would be appreciated!
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with IFTTT to automate my lighting based on sunset and sunrise times. It’s been a fun challenge to get everything working seamlessly. I’d love to hear how others are using IFTTT or similar tools for their smart home setups.
Another thing I wanted to mention is my experience with Wyze cameras. They’ve been fantastic for monitoring my home, but I’ve noticed that their motion detection settings sometimes reset themselves. It’s a minor nuisance, but I’d be curious to know if others have encountered this and how they’ve resolved it.
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about suggesting a feature to the Wyze team: the ability to swipe right to navigate back in the app. It would make navigation much more intuitive, especially when switching between camera feeds.
Overall, my smart home journey is going great, and I’m excited to continue exploring new ways to enhance my setup. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and tips—I’ve learned so much from this community!
