Philips Hue SmartStrip Plus Color Issue and Solutions

I’ve been enjoying the Philips Hue SmartStrip Plus for under-cabinet lighting in my kitchen, but I encountered an interesting issue that I wanted to share and discuss with the community. When I set the lights to pure white, there’s a faint green LED glow that appears on the edges of the shadows on the wall. While it’s subtle, it’s noticeable enough to be a bit distracting, especially in a setting where I want everything to look clean and cohesive. My wife and I were both a bit puzzled by this, so I decided to dig into potential solutions.

First, I considered whether the issue was related to the way the lights were installed. I had to cut and solder some jumper wires to connect the segments, which made me wonder if there was a wiring issue causing unexpected color bleeding. However, after double-checking the connections and ensuring everything was properly insulated, the green glow remained. I then thought about the possibility of a firmware issue or a misconfiguration in the Hue app. I checked the settings, adjusted the white balance, and even tried different color modes, but the green glow persisted.

Since I don’t have a Hue hub, I was curious if that might be part of the problem. I’ve heard that some advanced features require a hub, but I’ve been managing without one so far. I’m hesitant to invest in a hub just for this issue, so I started exploring other options. I came across some forums where users mentioned using custom scripts or integrations with third-party apps to fine-tune their Hue lights. This got me thinking about whether a custom solution could help eliminate the green glow.

I also reached out to the Philips Hue community to see if others have encountered similar issues. It turns out a few people have reported similar problems, especially with custom installations or when using multiple strips. Some suggested adjusting the brightness or using specific color settings to minimize the effect. Others mentioned using遮挡物 or重新定位灯具以减少阴影。虽然这些都不是完美的解决方案,但它们提供了一些值得尝试的方向。

If anyone has experienced this issue or has any tips on how to resolve it, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Whether it’s a software fix, a hardware adjustment, or a creative workaround, I’m open to any suggestions. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other create the perfect lighting setup!
