Philips Motion Sensors and Homey Automation Setup

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience setting up motion sensors with Homey. I’ve been using Philips motion sensors for a while now, and I’ve finally got my automation flow working perfectly! :tada:

So, here’s what I did: I created a flow where the lights turn on when motion is detected and then automatically dim after a minute. It’s super handy for those late-night trips to the kitchen or bathroom. The setup was pretty straightforward, but I did run into a few hiccups along the way.

At first, I wasn’t sure how to get the lights to dim after a minute. I tried a few different rules, but nothing worked quite right. Then, I stumbled upon this awesome flow someone shared online. It was exactly what I needed! I just had to tweak it a bit to match my setup.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the flow:

  • Trigger: Motion detected by Philips sensor
  • Action: Turn on lights
  • Delay: 1 minute
  • Action: Dim lights to 30%

I also added a failsafe so that if the lights are already on, they just stay at full brightness. It’s been working like a charm ever since!

I’d love to hear how others have set up their motion sensor automations. Do you have any cool tips or tricks? Let’s share and learn together!
