Phoscon Gateway Integration with HomeKit: A Smooth Experience

I’ve been exploring the integration of my Phoscon Gateway with HomeKit, and it’s been quite an enlightening journey! Let me share my experiences and tips for anyone looking to do the same. First, I installed the latest version of the Phoscon gateway on my Raspberry Pi and successfully paired an Aqara door window sensor. The process was straightforward, and I was excited to see the sensor appear in the Phoscon app. However, integrating it with HomeKit required a few extra steps. I connected the Phoscon gateway to my existing Homebridge setup, which already had a Hue Bridge. Interestingly, Homebridge recognized both bridges, creating two entries under the Hue platform. This was a bit confusing at first, but I soon realized it was just a matter of configuration. One thing I learned was the importance of activating sensors in the Homebridge settings. Initially, I hadn’t enabled the sensors under Resource types, which meant they weren’t visible in HomeKit. Once I made that adjustment, everything fell into place! I also tested adding an OSRAM PAR16 50 TW bulb to Phoscon, and it seamlessly appeared in HomeKit. This gave me confidence that the integration was working as intended. For anyone else looking to integrate their Phoscon Gateway with HomeKit, here are a few tips: - Ensure all sensors and devices are properly activated in Homebridge settings. - Double-check the firmware and software versions of your gateway and Homebridge to avoid compatibility issues. - Take your time to explore the Homebridge configuration files; they’re incredibly powerful once you get the hang of them. Overall, this integration has been a fantastic way to expand my smart home ecosystem. The ability to control everything from my iPhone has made my daily routine much more convenient. If you’re considering this setup, I highly recommend giving it a try! :tada:
