Phoscon Gateway Issue and Resolution

I’ve been using Phoscon app for a while now, and it’s been a great tool for managing my smart home setup. However, I recently encountered an issue that had me puzzled for a bit. I noticed a grayed-out Phoscon Gateway in my app, and I couldn’t find a way to remove it completely. This was concerning because I suspected it might be interfering with my Homebridge setup, which I use to control my smart switches.

Let me walk you through what happened and how I resolved it. A few weeks ago, I suddenly lost control of my smart switches connected to my Raspberry Pi setup. After some troubleshooting, I realized my RaspBee module might have failed, so I replaced it with a new RaspBee2. I set up the network again using Phoscon, but I still couldn’t get my switches working via Homebridge.

I tried several things:

  • Rebooting my Raspberry Pi and Homebridge
  • Updating plugins and software
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling deCONZ
  • Clearing browser cache

Despite all these attempts, the issue persisted. My hypothesis was that Homebridge was connecting to the wrong Phoscon gateway, which led me to my main question: how do I remove this unreachable gateway from Phoscon?

After some research and reaching out to the community, I found that deleting the gateway involves a few steps:

  1. Backup your current setup: Always a good idea before making changes.
  2. Log out of Phoscon: This ensures any cached data is cleared.
  3. Manually delete the gateway files: Locate the gateway data in your system and remove it.
  4. Restart Phoscon: After deletion, restart the app to see if the gateway is gone.

This process worked for me, and now my Homebridge setup is functioning smoothly again. It was a bit stressful, but it taught me the importance of regular backups and the value of community support when troubleshooting.

If anyone else is facing similar issues, I’d recommend checking out the Phoscon documentation or reaching out to the community forums. Happy smart home tinkering! :rocket:
