I’ve been using my Wyze Cam v3 to keep an eye on my swimming pool, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. However, I’ve always felt something was missing—specifically, an alarm system to ensure safety around the pool area. After some research, I stumbled upon a floating pool alarm that triggers when something large, like a child, enters the water. It’s a simple yet effective solution, but I couldn’t help but think how much better it would be if it integrated with my existing smart home ecosystem.
I’ve reached out to Wyze support to suggest adding a pool alarm notification feature, similar to their smoke or CO2 detectors. Imagine getting real-time alerts on your phone if the pool alarm is triggered! This would not only enhance safety but also provide peace of mind, especially for families with young children.
In the meantime, I’ve set up a workaround using IFTTT to send me notifications when the Wyze Cam detects motion near the pool. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start. I’m curious to hear if anyone else has tackled this challenge or has any suggestions for improving pool safety with smart home technology. Let’s brainstorm together!
