I recently installed several Aeotec dual micro switches in my home, and I must say, the experience has been quite positive. Most of these switches were set up using manual virtual switch configuration, which worked seamlessly right out of the box. However, one of them utilized the new Aeotec dual micro driver, which automatically created child switches. This feature was a real time-saver and made the setup process much smoother.
One thing I noticed is that while the new driver works well for controlling the switches, there have been occasional issues with the status updates not being consistent. This has caused some minor hiccups, especially when integrating with Alexa. Despite this, I can manually control the switches through the Hubitat dashboard, which is a reliable workaround. It’s worth mentioning that I never encountered such issues when using these switches with Wink, which makes me hopeful that a firmware update or a driver tweak might resolve the current inconsistency.
Overall, my experience with the Aeotec dual micro switches has been very satisfying. The reliability of these devices and the ease of setup have made them a valuable addition to my smart home ecosystem. I look forward to seeing any future updates or improvements that could enhance their functionality even further.
