Positive Experience with Ring Z-Wave Door Sensor

I wanted to share my positive experience with the Ring 2nd Gen Z-Wave Door Sensor. After researching various options, I decided to try this sensor as it was mentioned in a community post that it works well with SmartThings. I purchased it from BestBuy for $20, which was a great price considering the potential savings if it didn’t work out.

To my delight, the sensor paired effortlessly with my SmartThings setup in S2 authenticated mode. The process was straightforward: I held down the button for 4 seconds to switch to pair mode, scanned the QR code, and secured the authentication. Once added, I noticed it was categorized as a “z-wave sensor” and changed the device type to “Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor” in the SmartThings IDE. Since then, it has performed flawlessly, providing accurate readings and seamless integration into my home automation system.

I highly recommend this sensor to anyone looking for a reliable and cost-effective Z-Wave door sensor. It’s been a great addition to my setup and has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and ease of use. If you’re considering purchasing one, I’m confident you won’t be disappointed!
