Positive Experience with Universal Media Player

I wanted to share my positive experience with the Universal Media Player in Home Assistant. After some initial setup challenges, I’ve found it to be a fantastic way to integrate and control multiple media devices seamlessly. Here’s how I set it up:

I combined my Sony TV and a soundbar into a single entity, which makes controlling everything from one place so much easier. The volume controls and mute function now work perfectly, and I love how it automatically switches sources based on what I’m watching.

One tip I’d share is to ensure all child devices are properly configured and have the correct attributes before setting up the Universal Media Player. It also helps to test each command individually before linking them all together.

Overall, this integration has made my home theater setup more enjoyable and easier to manage. If you’re looking to streamline your media controls, I highly recommend giving the Universal Media Player a try!
