Positive Experiences with Ring Presence and Aeotec Wallmote Quad

As a long-time user of smart home devices, I’ve had some truly impressive experiences with certain gadgets, and I’d love to share them with the community. One device that stands out for me is the Ring presence sensor. It’s hands down the most reliable presence sensor I’ve ever used. Unlike some other sensors I’ve tried, it never flakes out and consistently detects my arrival and departure with pinpoint accuracy. This reliability has been a game-changer for automating my home, especially since I’ve moved away from using Life360 due to their recent issues. It’s a breath of fresh air to have a dependable solution without relying on another third-party service.

Another device that’s been a joy to work with is the Aeotec wallmote Quad. While it was a bit of a learning curve at first, figuring out how to set it up for controlling my bulbs was a rewarding experience. I discovered that creating virtual buttons and tying them to the wallmote was the way to go. Using the rule machine to set up scenarios where pressing a button turns on specific lights and releasing it turns them off was a great solution. It’s amazing how such a simple setup can make daily routines so much smoother.

I’m also curious to hear from others who might be dealing with similar setups or have tips on optimizing these devices further. The community here is fantastic, and I’m always eager to learn more tricks or hear about new integrations that could enhance my smart home setup even further. Thanks to everyone who contributes to making this platform so helpful and supportive!
