Hi all,
I have a quick question regarding the U400 and a potential auto-lock issue.
I’ve been using the lock for a few weeks without many problems. However, today I experienced something new. My mother and her boyfriend were visiting and stepped outside, leaving the front door open with the U400 for about 10–15 minutes. When they came back in and closed the door, the lock did not auto-lock.
To get it working again, I had to manually lock and unlock it, then open and close the door once more before it finally auto-locked. I checked the app logs, and it did register an error at the time the door was first closed after being open for an extended period, but there were no details explaining why.
I also reviewed the app settings and couldn’t find anything that would prevent auto-lock after the door has been left open for a long time.
My main concern is what would happen if I’m not home and someone leaves the door open for a while, then closes it and it fails to lock. That’s obviously a situation I’d like to avoid.
If anyone (especially Aqara developers or experienced users) has insight into what might be causing this—or could try to reproduce it in a test environment—I’d really appreciate the help.
Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the information about the discrepancy, please contact Aqara support.
Helo, @KinseyCreateGoods, please take control of this issue.
I think we might be good now with the locking issue. I ended up working with your support dept, as they had reached out to me via e-mail, and very helpful Isabel was able to work with me to correct the issue.
I explained everything to Isabel and she had me turn on Beta FW updates and had me update my locak to 3.1.1 and then do a recalibration on the lock. Once I did that, I ran two tests on the door:
Test 1: I left my front door wide open for 15 minutes, and then I walked over and closed it, and it locked.
Test 2: I pretty much did the same as test 1, but this time I left my watch and my phone in another room as I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t locking because I had those items near the lock, and after I closed it, it locked.
Hopefully the FW update corrected the issue, and I will no longer have to worry about the door not locking after it’s been open for a long period of time!
