Power sensor for a freezer?

I have a garage freezer connected to a power strip. Recently, the power strip keeps flipping off and I notice the freezer is off. Luckily, I have a temp sensor in there to let me know if it’s warming up. Does Aqara provide any senors that can notify me as soon as the power goes off?

@jasonlfunk Reading your post, my first reaction is:
Why is your power strip flipping off?

A reason could be that at certain moments you use more power than it is capable off.
If that is the case, replace it with a better one.

You could try a smart plug. I haven’t done it yet, but could probably be set up to notify if the is power loss.

Is it a smart temp sensor? Aqara’s temp
Sensor only last a few days in the freezer for me until it gets too cold

I would probably replace the power strip. Pretty sure those are not rated to handle the load from cycling.

Maybe a higher gauge extension cord plugged into a smart outlet would be better.

Hello, I have had the sensor for three months, I placed it in a sealed baby food jar (with a screw-on lid), the temperature shows -20°C. Maybe yours has a higher temperature.
I also have a yard thermometer, this year it was -25°C, it also showed, placed just under the garage roof.

When a freezer’s compressor kicks in, it requires a multiple of its normal power consumption (often 5 to 10 times) for a fraction of a second. For this reason, a freezer should never be permanently connected via extension cords or power strips. It should always be plugged directly into a wall outlet to prevent fire hazards and outages. If you do use a smart plug, it must be explicitly rated for high loads and capable of handling 15 Amps (or 16 Amps in European systems).

The most professional solution to monitor your freezer is to replace the existing wall socket with a dedicated Smart Wall Outlet (like the Aqara Smart Wall Outlet). This eliminates loose connections and handles the high inrush current safely (rated for 15A).

Crucial Tip: Whichever device you choose, make sure to enable the ‘Power-off Memory’ function (set to ‘Restore Power’ or ‘On’) in the settings. This ensures your freezer turns back on automatically after a general power outage.
