If you are new to Aqara, here is a very useful tip that will allow you to set up creative solutions.
Prevent a motion sensor from automatically turning the light on or off by switching to manual mode.
Automatically turning lights on and off via a motion sensor is convenient when a room is dark. However, it can be annoying in the evening when you are in the room: the light might turn off if you stay still for a moment, or turn on if you get up during the night. You can solve this problem using a wireless mini-switch.
- Create an automation that turns the light on or off when you press the button.
- Add a step to this automation that disables all automations linked to the motion sensor.
- Create an automation that re-enables all automations linked to the motion sensor every morning (at a time of your choice).
This way, whenever you use the button, you switch lighting control to manual mode until the next morning.
