Pro 5 Camera Issue Solved: A Step-by-Step Journey

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Arlo Pro 5 camera. It’s been quite the rollercoaster, but I’m happy to say I figured it out! :tada:

I recently upgraded my security system, replacing some older cameras with three new Arlo Pro 5s. Two of them worked like a charm from the get-go, but the third one was giving me quite the headache. While it connected perfectly and even streamed live video, it simply refused to record any events or upload them to the cloud or my local SD card. No matter what I tried, it just wouldn’t budge.

I spent hours troubleshooting, reaching out to Arlo support, and even trying some online solutions. Nothing worked. I was starting to think it was a hardware issue and might need to send it back for an exchange. But before I gave up, I decided to do one last deep dive into the settings.

And then… lightbulb moment! I realized the camera’s motion detection settings were somehow disabled. I must have accidentally toggled them off during setup. Once I re-enabled them, everything started working perfectly! :dart: The camera now records events, uploads them to the cloud, and even saves them to the SD card. Problem solved! :tada:

This experience taught me the importance of double-checking settings, especially after a fresh install. It’s easy to overlook something small that can make a big difference. I hope sharing this helps someone else avoid the same frustration.

If anyone else is struggling with their Arlo cameras, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help troubleshoot or share what I’ve learned! :hugs:
