I have an Aqara presence switch H2 US model and I’m getting very strange behavior both in thread and Zigbee mode.
In thread mode the switch goes unresponsive at random intervals and I cannot get reliable connection.
In Zigbee mode the lower buttons don’t register neither in the Aqara app nor apple home. If I configure an automation for the button it doesn’t execute.
Also the button cannot be set to multipress every time I configure as multiplress returns to single press.

Quick clarifications first: which H2 model do you have — 2-button 1-channel, 2-button 2-channel, or 4-button 3-channel? And when you say lower buttons, are those on a second channel?
If the wiring got mixed up during install (happens easy with multi-channel models), channel 2 buttons won’t respond.
Also: did you factory reset and re-add just the H2 itself yet, or did you reset the whole automation setup? Thread dropouts are usually network-layer, but if it’s happening only on this device, could be firmware — check if there’s a newer version in the app.
