Profile Automation for Smart Home Scenarios

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a really cool idea I’ve been thinking about for my smart home setup. I’ve been using the tado system for about a week now, and it’s been a huge upgrade from my old Hive setup. The team behind it has done an amazing job! However, there’s one feature I believe could take it to the next level, and I’m really hoping you might consider adding it in the future. My Situation: I work from home every day, and my wife has a more flexible schedule where she works from home on certain days. It’s a bit of a juggling act to manage the heating and cooling in our house, especially when her schedule changes from week to week. For example, she works from home on Wednesdays every week, but on some weeks, she also works on Monday and Tuesday, while on other weeks, she works on Thursday and Friday. The Issue: When my wife isn’t home, I’d like to have the office set to a higher temperature, but I want the rest of the house to be in a more energy-efficient ‘setback’ mode. The challenge is that manually adjusting 14 thermostats every time her schedule changes is incredibly time-consuming and frustrating. Copying schedules to multiple radiators isn’t a perfect solution either, and reversing the process after a few days adds even more complexity. The Solution: I think introducing profile automation could solve this problem beautifully. Imagine being able to create two distinct profiles: one for when my wife is home and another for when she’s not. Each profile could have its own set of schedules, making it as simple as switching between them with a single click. It’s a feature that would save so much time and hassle, and I’m sure many other users would find it incredibly useful too.Why It’s a Great Idea: You already have the basic groundwork laid with the Home and Away modes. Expanding this to allow for multiple, customizable profiles would make the system even more versatile and user-friendly. I’m really excited about the potential this could bring to the platform! What do you think? Would you consider adding this kind of profile automation feature? I’d love to hear your thoughts and any ideas you might have for implementing it. Let’s make smart home automation even smarter! :control_knobs::bulb:
