Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking about ways to protect my outdoor motion sensors and cameras from the harsh weather conditions we’ve been having lately. I came across the idea of placing them in jars to shield them from rain, snow, and wind. It seems like a clever and cost-effective solution, but I’m curious if anyone here has tried this before or has any tips to share.
I’ve seen some enclosures for sale online, but I’m not sure if they’re worth the investment. Maybe using jars could be a more budget-friendly alternative. I’d love to hear if anyone has experience with this—how did it work out for you? Did you use any specific types of jars or add anything extra for better protection?
Also, I’m wondering if there are any downsides to this approach. For example, could the jar affect the sensor’s range or the camera’s field of view? I’d appreciate any insights or advice you might have. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!
