I have a question about the W200 that I am hoping someone who is very knowledgeable about it can answer.
So I live in an older home (built in the mid 70’s), that has a dedicated thermostat for the heat via a furness and dedicated thermostat for the central AC. I live in New York, so I basically run one thermostat during the winter months for the heat while the other thermostat is off for the AC, and then in summer months I turn off the thermostat for the heat and turn on the thermostat for the AC. What I would like to know is if I purchased (2) W200 units could I set them up so that only one unit is on at a time?
Another question I have is with my current thermostat that I use for my central AC, the only wires I have connected to it are:
Y1 (cool)
G (fan)
R (power)
And when I plug those into the Aqara site to see if its compatible, I get this response back:
" Based on your wire selection, the Thermostat Hub W200 may not be compatible with your system. You may contact our support team to confirm further."
My current thermostat that is controlling the AC unit is a Nest E learning thermostat that I have been using for a few years with no issues, so I’d like to believe that the W200 would work as well, but I’d like some sort of confirmation that it will.

Is your heating equipment wiring also without a C wire, only with W, R, and C?

For the air conditioning unit, you will need to purchase an additional C-wire adapter to support it.

My heating thermostat is a Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat and the wiring for that right now is W1 and Rh. I have been using it for a few years now without that C-Wire and have never had any real issues with continuous power.
As for the C-Wire adapter, I saw that on the Aqara site yesterday and am probably going to be picking it up.
After reading your replies, I am going to assume that as long as I get that C-Wire adapter and attache it to my furnace, I’ll be able to use (2) W200 devices in my home to control the heat and the AC individually?
It likely got flagged because of the C wire, but you should be able to do this if you can get the C-wire adapter added.
It’s very interesting to me that you were able to use Nest without a C wire. What was that experience like?
Here is a photo of the control board on my furnace. I was looking at it and comparing it to a C-Wire adapter and I can’t seem to line up the letters on the C-Wire with what I see on my control board.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Are these wires your existing ones? It looks like you do have a C wire already. Is it not in the bundle at your thermostat?
Nope. I looked when I first put in my Nest Thermostats, but maybe I’ll have to look again, as it may have been pushed back into the wall and I didn’t see it.
I pulled off my Thermostat for my heat to see if the C wire was in the wall somewhere and as you can see from this photo, the only wires in the wall are the white and red ones which are currently hooked to the thermostat, so now I have no idea where that blue C wire got terminated.
What’s the black wire at the back there?
Not sure… I looked at it, and its just one single wire in there that goes up and out of the jem box, so I am not sure where it goes. I sent a txt to my HVAC guy to see if I can have him come by the house so we can try to figure out this mystery…
