I want to create a smart app that randomly changes the color of my Hue lights whenever they’re turned on. It would be such a cool way to add some variety to my home’s ambiance without having to manually adjust the colors each time. 
I’ve been using Hue lights for a while now, and while they’re amazing, I sometimes find myself wanting a bit more spontaneity. Instead of setting specific scenes or schedules, I’d love for the lights to surprise me with different colors throughout the day. Imagine walking into a room and seeing a completely different color palette each time—it’d be like having a new decoration every day! 
I’ve started researching how to implement this idea. From what I gather, it involves creating a custom smart app that integrates with the Hue API. The app would need to generate random Hue/SAT values and apply them when the light is turned on. I’ve even come across some forums and GitHub repositories where people have shared their experiences and code snippets for similar projects. 
One thing I’m a bit unsure about is how to ensure the randomization isn’t too overwhelming. I don’t want the colors to change too rapidly or in a way that’s jarring. Maybe setting a cooldown period or limiting the range of colors could help. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!
