I would buy a Aqara range extender to be sure that all my devices are well connected to the Aqara system.

Sockets, light bulbs (devices that do not use batteries) work to help extend the Zigbee range.

A battery-powered range extender solution might be a good idea. This could be used in an apartment building to extend the range to the basement. You would just have to find good hiding places for it 
The battery would need to have a long service life, but that is probably not realistic
