Hey everyone, I’m here to share my experiences with my Wyze cameras and some troubleshooting tips I’ve picked up along the way. I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a few months now, and while they’ve been great for monitoring my home, I’ve encountered a few quirks that I thought I’d document here.
First off, the cameras have been fantastic for detecting motion and sound. I’ve set them up in various parts of my house, and they consistently alert me when there’s any activity. However, I’ve noticed that sometimes the camera doesn’t record every single instance of motion, especially when someone enters the house quickly or moves past the camera’s field of view. This has been a bit puzzling, and I’m curious if others have experienced similar issues.
Another thing I wanted to mention is the camera’s ability to record continuously to an SD card. I’ve been testing this feature by setting my camera to record 24/7 to a 32GB card. While the camera does record, I’m wondering if it still sends notifications for new motion or sound events as they happen. From what I’ve observed, it seems like notifications are still sent, but I’d love to hear if anyone else has insights on this.
Now, the reason I’m bringing this up is that recently, one of my cameras went offline. I tried reconnecting it, but I kept getting a ‘connection failed’ message. Rebooting my phone didn’t help, and I’m now considering getting an additional camera for better coverage. However, the stability of the platform is a concern, and I’d appreciate hearing if others have faced similar issues or found reliable solutions.
On a positive note, I’ve found that using a VPN with the Alexa app works perfectly for me, and I’ve managed to set up my Schlage smart lock to unlock when I’m within a certain proximity. It’s been a bit of trial and error, but the convenience is worth it!
If anyone has tips on troubleshooting camera connectivity or ensuring continuous recording without missing any events, I’d be thrilled to hear them. Let’s keep the discussion flowing and help each other make the most of our smart home setups!
