I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi 3 A+ to set up Home Assistant, and I’m encountering some stability issues that I’m hoping the community can help me troubleshoot. After installing the latest version of Home Assistant OS, the system boots up fine and I can access the server via the IP address. However, shortly after booting, it stops responding, and I can’t even restart it using the command line. I end up having to unplug and replug the power to get it working again, but the issue persists every time I boot up.
I suspect the problem might be related to the SD card I’m using, which is quite old—it’s been in use since 2015. Alternatively, it could be an issue with the add-ons I’ve installed, particularly the SSH-Terminal add-on. Even when I remove the add-on, the problem still occurs, which suggests it might not be the root cause. I’ve also noticed some error messages in the command line that reference a ‘hung_task_timeout_secs’ issue, which I’m not entirely sure how to address.
I’m curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues with the Raspberry Pi 3 A+ or Home Assistant OS. Has anyone had success resolving stability problems related to SD cards or specific add-ons? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I try to get this up and running smoothly. Thanks in advance for your help!
