Recommendations for sensors 2 story home for thermostat

I’m excited to get that doorbell and lock, they are on my wish list for sure.. What do you mean by soft sensor in the app?
Thanks for sharing your set up.

In the app there’s an ability to setup a new sensor called a soft sensor (named because it doesn’t have hardware) that can combine sensors in different ways and can then appear as a new sensor. So I made one that averages two temp sensors to make a new sensor I call offices. Then I can base the thermostat on it.

Oh! Ok, that’s super useful. Thanks for telling me about that.

Just making sure I understand…
I can use the 200 and the sensors I bought with it (bought the bundle that comes with 6) to set up my house in the Aqara app. And I can attach it to my Apple HomeKit using my HomePod. So that we can also take advantage of the new adaptive feature causing it to monitor who is home or not and adjusting accordingly?
Or is it an either or situation?

I believe you are correct. If I sound hesitant it’s because we haven’t set that up yet since usually one of us is always home with the furballs

This is not an either/or situation, but you do need to think of it in layers, otherwise you risk the two systems overwriting each other. You do have to choose one system to control the schedule.

In Aqara’s app you’ll set the logic for which sensors are the input for source temperature. This can be a single sensor, an average of multiple sensors, or choosing the sensor based on a schedule (or other automation).

Then in Apple Home, Adaptive Temperature will control the modes, schedules, and set temperatures based on location or occupancy.

Thank you Robert. I’m thinking I might need help getting set up…lots to understand here. I’ll read through the instructions thoroughly, and ask for help as needed. We just moved, so the first order of business is finding my HomePod!
