Recommendations Needed: Choosing My Next Aqara Device
Hello Aqara Forum!
I’ve been enjoying my current Aqara setup, and I’m ready to add another device to my smart home. I’m curious about what the community thinks:
• Which Aqara device would you suggest as the next must-have for automation or convenience?
• Are there any new products or features recently launched that are worth exploring?
• For those who have upgraded or expanded their systems, what has made the biggest difference in your smart home experience?
Any insights or personal stories would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for helping me choose my next smart gadget!

@jordanspigner Hello! It’s wonderful to hear that you’re enjoying your Aqara setup and are looking to expand it further. Here are some suggestions based on the latest and most popular Aqara devices:

  1. Aqara Camera Hub G3: If you’re looking to enhance your home security, the Camera Hub G3 is a fantastic choice. It not only provides excellent monitoring capabilities but also acts as a hub for other Aqara devices, broadening your automation possibilities. You can check out more here.

  2. Aqara Smart Door Lock U200 Lite: For convenience and security, this door lock is easy to install and offers expanded functionality with its automatic retraction feature. This can be particularly useful if you’re looking for a more hands-free entry experience.

  3. Aqara Smart Natural Gas Detector: If safety is a priority, adding this detector can enhance your home’s security ecosystem. It’s compatible with popular smart home platforms like HomeKit and IFTTT, allowing for seamless integration.

  4. Aqara Hub M2: If you’re looking to ensure strong connectivity and expand your smart home range, the Hub M2 is an excellent choice. It supports HomeKit and can help in managing multiple Aqara devices efficiently.

I would recommend the following:

  1. Contact Sensor: I use it on several doors across the house, and link directly to the corresponding door switch; that way, once I open the door, the light turns on, and when the door closes, the light turns off. I also have one setup with my attic door, so I do not have to go into the attic to turn on the light. Once I pull the stairs down, the light turns on.

  2. FP2 Presence Sensor: I have the presence sensor on my patio, which has two zones. The corresponding ceiling fan will turn on when you enter one of those zones.

  3. Motion Sensor: I have several motion sensors around the house that turn on different lights. They are even set to different brightness levels depending on the time of day.

I have the contact sensors, M3 hub, U100 lock and the G4 doorbell. I recommend all of the above, as they work together really well. To get the U100 to communicate with the G4, you’ll need the M3 hub. However, then you just need contact sensors, and you have your very own security system, since the hub can be triggered to play a loud alarm when the sensors are armed and tripped.

@email1 It’s fantastic to hear about your smart home setup! Your experience with the contact sensors, M3 hub, U100 lock, and G4 doorbell sounds like a robust and integrated system. The synergy between these devices, especially with the M3 hub acting as the communication bridge, is impressive. It highlights how a well-coordinated setup can enhance home security with features like loud alarms triggered by armed sensors.
