Reducing Buffering and Connection Times for Wyze Cams on Firestick

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a solution that worked wonders for me regarding buffering and connection times when viewing my Wyze cameras on my Amazon Firestick TV. This issue was really bugging me, as it used to take over 30 seconds to display my cameras, which was frustrating to say the least!

After doing some research and reaching out to my router provider, Asus, I found some adjustments that made a huge difference. Here’s what I did:

  1. Bandwidth Setting: I switched my bandwidth from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz. This might not work for everyone, but it significantly reduced my buffering issues.

  2. Channel Adjustment: Asus suggested changing the control channel on my router. I tried channels 1, 6, and 11, and channel 1 worked best for me. This helped minimize interference and improved connectivity.

  3. Disabling Beamforming: Under the professional settings, I disabled both Explicit Beamforming and Universal Beamforming. This tweak helped stabilize my connection and reduce lag.

  4. Security Level: I made sure my security level was set to WPA2-Personal. This ensures a strong and stable connection.

These changes were a game-changer! Now, my Wyze cameras load in under 10 seconds, and the buffering issues are practically nonexistent. I hope this helps someone else out there who’s struggling with similar problems. It’s amazing how a few simple adjustments can make such a big difference!

If anyone has additional tips or has tried something similar, I’d love to hear about your experiences. Let’s keep the conversation going!
