Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with reducing data usage on my Wyze cameras. A while back, I noticed a significant spike in my home internet usage after setting up my Wyze Pan Cam. It was concerning, especially since I rely on my cameras for monitoring my energetic puppy while I work from home.
After some research and trial and error, I found that turning off certain features and disabling the Plus membership made a huge difference. I also discovered that streaming locally on my iPad doesn’t contribute to the data spike, which was a relief.
Here are a few tips I’d like to share:
- Disable Unnecessary Features: Go into your camera settings and turn off features like motion alerts or continuous streaming if you don’t need them.
- Local Streaming: Use local streaming options to avoid data usage from cloud storage.
- Regular Monitoring: Keep an eye on your data usage and adjust settings as needed.
