As a homeowner with multiple smart devices, I’ve always been looking for ways to streamline my daily routines. Recently, I stumbled upon a common issue that many of us might relate to: excessive notifications from door sensors when leaving the house. My family often juggle multiple tasks while leaving, leading to frequent door openings and closings. While the notifications are helpful, they can become overwhelming during these busy moments.
After some research, I discovered a simple yet effective solution. By creating a rule in my smart home system, I can set a ‘quiet period’ of 10 minutes after the first door opening. During this time, the system ignores subsequent door events, preventing unnecessary alerts. This has made a huge difference in reducing distractions while ensuring that important notifications still come through.
I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar challenges or if there are even better solutions out there. Let’s share our experiences and tips to make our smart homes work smarter for us!
