Reducing Reflections on Indoor Cameras: A Simple Solution

I recently faced an issue with my Wyze Cam Pro 3, which was installed indoors facing out through a window. At night, I noticed unwanted light reflections appearing in the corners of the camera’s screen. These reflections were caused by indoor lighting, and they made it difficult to get clear footage of the area outside.

After some experimentation, I found a simple yet effective solution. Here’s how I tackled the problem:

  1. Identify the Source: The reflections were coming from the window’s horizontal blinds and curtains. The light from indoor lamps was bouncing off these surfaces and onto the camera lens.

  2. The Fix: I decided to create a small shield around the camera to block the light reflections. I used a strip of plain paper, which I cut to size and shaped to fit snugly around the camera. I secured it in place with some tape, making sure it was flush with the window frame.

  3. The Result: This adjustment completely eliminated the reflections! The camera now captures clear footage without any distracting light flares. It’s a straightforward fix that makes a world of difference.

If you’re dealing with similar issues, I highly recommend trying this method. It’s cost-effective, easy to implement, and doesn’t require any special tools or materials. A little creativity can go a long way in improving your camera’s performance!
