2- Describe the opening sensor. Example - the sensor is open then the gate is closed or open.
3- Is there only one Aqara opening sensor (gate)? If so, maybe you need to think about two sensors (open and closed).

Hiii, I’d like to take advantage of your experience with a perhaps stupid question, but I haven’t found an answer anywhere: if I connect a light bulb to the relay and then activate wireless mode, will the bulb always be powered? Or is the circuit still open?

Let me explain why: I’d like to use the button connected to the relay wirelessly to turn a smart light bulb on and off, and I’d like to create automations to make that bulb light up in different colors based on the time.
To do this, the smart light bulb obviously needs to be constantly powered, so I’d like to know if it can still be powered from the relay’s L1/L2 outputs, or if in wireless mode isn’t possible and it needs to be powered from the mains.

You can do as you described. Put the relay in wireless mode. Make a command from the button: if pulse + lamp Off then On lamp; if pulse + lamp On you Off lamp. In the On lamp command, simply select the color and brightness depending on the time (the time must not overlap because the command will not be executed). The power will be constant (L1,L2) if you do not turn it off from the application, you also need to select the option “turn on relay” after restoring the industrial network.

Another question: to control a roller shutter motor with relay T2, do I just need to set it to interlock mode? (Paying attention to what you described in the post: first I turn on the relay and set it to interlock, and then I connect the motor, right?)

I face exactly the same issue. I have a standard electrical wiring where I replaced standard relays with T2. The T2 works instantaneously when I drive it by the app or by a wireless Aqara button. When I drive it by the wired buttons, the switch is delayed by two components: the first one is that it switches on the falling edge of the button and not on the trailing edge (I.e. till you do not release the button, it does not switch) + a random time internal software delay (something in the range of 200/300 ms. in my daughter apartment I made the same wiring with a different brand smart relay and works instantaneously (I.e. it is 100% Aqara d sign issue). I contacted assistance more than one year ago, but I received the standard reply such as “we shared your request with technical office…bla,bla”. Frustrating!

Exactly same response from the support, furthermore I have ad Aqara Switch H2, and even if in not in all conditions it has a similar delay and the issue of doing the action on release instead of press.

And to confirm it’s completely on their end because of the software if on the switch I use thread instead of Zigbee then they didn’t add the delay there, so it’s instantaneous

Hello, if purely theoretically from the developers’ side we have: switch mode - logical “1” is constantly then “On”, there is no logical “1” and there is logical “0” then “Off”.
Pulse switching mode - the moment of transition (pulse) from “1” to “0” is the command to change the state of the switch On/Off.
Perhaps, developers should be given an additional option to select the reverse (“0” to “1”).

You can perform this function if your switch allows you to select the normally closed (open) contact option.

Hello Graphic10, In normal home wiring, the relay command button is connected on the NormalOpen (this is because with standard relays you can not keep the coil constantly excited). So, software inversion should be the right solution, but also driving the T2 with a Normally Closed button could keep out the most of the response delay. Let me check if my buttons have both NC/NO contacts and I’ll keep you updated on the results.

This is the buttons I’m using. Unfortunately no Normally Open contacts.

Since all normal buttons are Normally Open, I expect Aqara to make a simple change in the software, rather than replacing all buttons worldwide.

PS (if I replace the buttons with NC, it will not be possible to replace the T2 relay with a standard electromechanical one)

Try unbinding the physical button T2 and making it a control using automation. I understand that this is an additional problem, it shouldn’t be like that, but maybe it will help. When I get home, I’ll check again how it works in terms of speed. I tested this relay a long time ago and I can’t say exactly what speed it will be.

Just for research, hold the button as if you had a normally closed button. Release and press again (simulate a different type of contact). I think you get what I’m talking about.

Does Aqara plan to release a new relay similar to T2 for two protocols and without many problematic issues related to the T2 relay.

  1. The switch with S1, S2, Com does not work at +/-24 volts.
  2. In automation conditions, there is no relay state when selecting pulse mode.
  3. Using two communication protocols (Zigbee and Thread).
  4. Quick response when using an external switch.

I finally found the solution.

I replaced the Aqara relay with a Shelly 2PM, Gen4, and paired with Aqara ecosystem through matter.

I kept all automations working and lights now are istantaneous as driven with an electromechanical switch.

Aqara relays? no thanks!
