Remote user management for U100

Hi folks!

I’m trying to track down a definitive answer regarding the U100 lock (firmware is 3.0.0_0031 which the app says is the latest version)

I have it connected via Aqare M2 hub and I thought this meant I could manage users remotely, e.g. create a PIN code when outside Bluetooth range. Every time I try this, I get the ‘bluetooth not connected’ alert.

Does it support user management while away or not? If not, do the newer locks support this feature?

Thanks!

@smoothlandon Hi there! Thanks for sharing your experience with the U100 lock. Let me help clarify this for you.

The Aqara U100 does support remote user management (like creating PIN codes) when connected to an Aqara Hub, but there are a few prerequisites to ensure it works smoothly. According to the troubleshooting guide, to create temporary users or new codes remotely, you need to first enable the “Remote Unlocking” feature in the Aqara Home App. This step is crucial—without it, the app might still require a Bluetooth connection even if the lock is hub-connected.

Additionally, double-check that your Aqara M2 Hub and the U100 are both online in the app, as a stable hub connection is necessary for remote operations. Since your firmware is already up to date (3.0.0_0031), that shouldn’t be the issue here.

As for newer locks, the U400 (a more recent model) supports “remotely creating a one-time password” via Bluetooth local direct connection, which might offer more flexible remote management features.

Give the “Remote Unlocking” toggle a check in the app—hopefully that resolves the Bluetooth alert! Let us know how it goes, or if you need further help.
