Hi everyone! I’m really excited about Home Assistant and all the amazing features it offers. I wanted to share a small but impactful idea that could enhance the user experience even further.
Currently, when an add-on is stopped and I click on it from the sidebar, I get a warning that the add-on is stopped and am redirected to the supervisor page to manually start it. While this isn’t too difficult, it does break the flow a bit, especially for those of us who manage multiple add-ons.
It would be fantastic if Home Assistant could automatically start the add-on when I click on it from the sidebar. This would make the process seamless and save me from having to navigate away from the interface I’m already in.
This feature would be particularly useful for users who stop infrequently used add-ons to conserve system resources. By only starting them when needed, we could maintain efficient resource usage while still enjoying a smooth user experience.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this idea and whether it might be something the development team could consider in future updates. Thanks for all the hard work you put into making Home Assistant the best smart home platform out there! ![]()
