Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to get your thoughts on a feature request I’ve been pondering. With the increasing reliance on smart home systems, it’s becoming crucial to ensure that family members, especially the elderly, can be monitored and assisted effectively without compromising their privacy or independence.
My elderly parents live out of state, and I’ve set up a smart home system to keep an eye on their activities, monitor package deliveries, and ensure everything is running smoothly. However, I’ve encountered a significant hurdle—I can’t log into their system without receiving a text code sent to their phone. This has become increasingly challenging as they are in their 80s and managing this process is quite cumbersome for them.
What I’d love to see is a Guest Account feature that allows adult children or trusted caregivers to check in on their loved ones without needing direct access to their primary account. This would provide peace of mind without invading their privacy or requiring them to share sensitive information like passwords or phone numbers.
I’d love to hear if others have faced similar challenges or if there are existing solutions that I might have missed. Additionally, any insights into how such a feature could be implemented securely would be invaluable. It would be fantastic if this could be a priority for future updates, as it has the potential to greatly enhance the quality of life for many elderly individuals and their families.
Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions! Let’s continue to make smart home technology work for everyone, regardless of age or technical proficiency.
