I’d like to use a different USB-C cable with my G5 Pro camera. I want a shorter black one. I am about to order some, but I am wondering if there are any special specifications or requirements to keep in mind.
I am also going to buy some small plugs for power. Any requirements besides being at least 5V?
I recommend keeping the length of the cable at 15 feet or less and try to use quality cables not just the least expensive. I tested out several lengths with my G5 Pro cameras and anything over 15 feet caused a variety of issues ie: dropping WiFi, random camera restarts, lag etc.
The same cameras using a cable less than 15 feet work perfect.
The length of the power cable should be controlled within 5m, and the output power should be ensured to be ≥ 10W (i.e. the maximum current should not be less than 2A when the voltage is 5V). I believe that the USB-C interface power supplies you can currently purchase will all meet this specification.
