Resolving Google Nest's Repetitive Action Issue

Hi everyone, I’ve been experimenting with automations on my Google Nest and came across an interesting issue. I set up a rule where, if my bathroom window is open, it starts playing a track on my Nest after 5 minutes, repeating every 2 minutes. However, I noticed that even after closing the window, the action keeps repeating twice. At first, I thought it might be a problem with my contact sensor, but after checking, it seems to be working fine.

I reached out to the community, and it turns out this isn’t an isolated issue. Many users have encountered similar behavior with their automations. Some suggested tweaking the delay times or adjusting the rule conditions, but I’m still not entirely sure what’s causing it.

On a positive note, I’ve found that using Node-Red to manage my automations gives me more control and reduces such unexpected behaviors. It’s been a great tool for organizing my flows and ensuring everything runs smoothly. If anyone has any insights or solutions, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other troubleshoot these smart home quirks.
