Resolving Heating Issues: A Step-by-Step Journey

I recently faced a perplexing issue with my heating system, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others. The problem began on a Saturday when my heating system suddenly overpowered, reaching 25 degrees in a room that shouldn’t have been heated. I turned it off and went to work, only to find the system completely unresponsive that evening. The radiators were cold, and despite the thermostats showing desired temperatures, the boiler wasn’t engaging.

I started by checking the basics: I replaced the batteries in all the TRVs, restarted the wireless receiver, and even reset the internet bridge. Everything seemed fine on the app, but the system remained unresponsive. I noticed that the TRVs were turning, but no hot water was circulating, and the boiler wasn’t clicking on.

After some research, I found out that Tado had recently applied a fix on the 19th, which might have been related. I also recalled that a plumber had installed TRVs a week prior, which could have been a contributing factor. I reached out to Tado support, and they mentioned that the issue might be related to the recent update.

The solution came after a thorough system reset. I had to factory reset the system, which was frustrating but ultimately necessary. After reconfiguration, the heating began working again. This experience taught me the importance of patience and the value of community support. If anyone else is facing similar issues, I recommend checking for recent updates, resetting components, and reaching out to support if the problem persists. It’s a tough journey, but persistence pays off!
