Recently, I encountered a peculiar issue with my IKEA color temperature bulbs. After setting them up with an Aoetec Hub, they worked perfectly for a few minutes before randomly turning on every minute. This was perplexing as there were no commands from the hub to trigger this behavior. The bulbs would switch to 4000K and remain on until manually turned off, only to repeat the process shortly after.
After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered a solution that worked seamlessly. By connecting all the bulbs at least once with an IKEA remote and then resetting them, I was able to reconnect them without any issues. Interestingly, this fix didn’t require an IKEA hub or the Tradfri app, which was a pleasant surprise.
While I appreciate the simplicity of this solution, I do miss the ‘state after power loss’ functionality that the IKEA hub offers. However, the trade-off is worth it for the hassle-free operation of my bulbs.
