Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating a Schlage lock with Vera. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I managed to figure it out, and I hope this helps others facing similar issues.
So, the problem I was having was that while I could delete codes and lock/unlock the door remotely, I couldn’t add new codes through Vera. The code would show as entered successfully but wouldn’t work on the lock. After some research and trial and error, I discovered that the issue was with the Vera’s firmware. Updating it to the latest version resolved the problem!
Here’s what I did:
- Checked Vera’s settings for available updates.
- Updated the firmware following the instructions in the user manual.
- After the update, I retried adding a code through Vera, and it worked perfectly!
This was a bit frustrating at first, but it taught me the importance of keeping firmware up to date. If anyone else is having similar issues, I highly recommend checking for firmware updates before diving into more complex troubleshooting.
