Hello OpenHAB community! I recently encountered an issue while setting up my Z-Wave wall plug switches in OpenHAB. The switches, reported as Philio Technology Corp devices by Home Assistant, weren’t fully discovered in the Z-Wave binding. At first, I was a bit puzzled, thinking I might need to create a custom binding myself. However, after some research and trial, I found a solution that worked seamlessly!
I discovered that ensuring the Z-Wave binding is properly configured and that the device manufacturer and type are correctly recognized is crucial. By checking the Z-Wave device database and ensuring my OpenHAB instance was up-to-date, I managed to get the switches fully integrated without needing custom bindings. The key was verifying the device IDs and ensuring all necessary configurations were in place.
This experience taught me the importance of thorough configuration checks and database references. It’s always reassuring to find that most issues can be resolved with the right information and a bit of troubleshooting. I hope this helps anyone else facing similar challenges!
If anyone has tips or alternative solutions, I’d love to hear them. Let’s keep sharing our experiences to make OpenHAB even better! ![]()
