To the Aqara Team: while relatively uncommon, RF / WiFi jammers have been used in the burglaries of some famous athletes and others. Hardwired devices (in my case, Aqara Hub M3 and Apple TV (for Apple Home)) are immune, but wireless devices (e.g. Aqara zigbee and wifi devices are not). It would be awesome if an automation could be triggered if multiple wireless sensors became unresponsive. Just a thought …
@mark_e_rizzo Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and this important security consideration! The idea of triggering an automation when multiple wireless sensors become unresponsive is both insightful and practical, especially given the increasing sophistication of security threats like RF/WiFi jamming.
Currently, Aqara’s troubleshooting guidance does focus on helping users identify and resolve device offline situations, such as checking network conditions, device distance from the hub, and battery statuses. However, automatic detection of multiple simultaneous device drop-offs as a potential security event—and using that as a trigger for automation—is not a built-in feature at this time.
Your suggestion would add tremendous value for users seeking higher security and peace of mind. I encourage everyone in the community to join this discussion—have you encountered similar concerns, or do you have workarounds? Let’s keep the conversation going, and I’ll make sure the feedback is highlighted for the product team. Thanks for your proactive approach to smart home safety!
Some devices already have this built in. Cameras for example have a toggle for “Device Offline Notification” it works great. It would be nice to have it as a feature on all Aqara devices not just cameras etc.
it would be a little different than the cameras but would cover your idea.
Can I understand it this way? By setting the device to be offline as an automatic condition, can we fulfill your requirements?
