Roller blind E1 wont connect to hub

i have a brand new Aqara M3 hub and an E1 blind controller. The pairing process fails with a message about device not suitable for my region. i am in Australia

Hello, welcome to the forum. This is a standard regional restriction. If the E1 curtain driver is for the Chinese region then it will not connect in your region.

OK, But I bought it from their Australian site !

I have other Aqara devices sitting unopened in boxes as well - are they all likely to be similarly restricted?

Also, is the regional restriction on the M3 hub, or the E1 blind controller?

The M3 gateway also has different versions, global and Chinese. Can you provide a photo of the Aqara device boxes? This may help me give you a more accurate answer.

If you purchased it from the website “aqarastore.com.au”, then it wasn’t bought directly from the official Aqara store, as all of the stores have “.aqara.com” in their URL. This store appears to be operated by a company called “Konec” and looks very similar to the official Aqara store. However, the disclaimer states: “This shop is managed by Aqara’s authorized distributor in Australia. If you have any queries or questions, please feel free to contact us at aqarastore@t-five.com.au.”
